We focus on the fundamentals and skills needed to succeed at the next level and utilize techniques to provide sports enhancement. We offer Skills and drills camps for all different levels. All of our camps, clinics and sports programs are designed to improve athlete’s overall skills and knowledge of the game.
What We Offer
Trax Sports is an innovative sports company that provides sports programs for schools and other organizations in the U.S and abroad. Founded by Rick R. Smith, RAA in 2011 wanted to offer high-level training and sports programs to elementary, middle school and high school athletes. Trax Sports is designed to enhance the fundamentals, skills, techniques and athletic education of athletes.
Rick R. Smith, RAA
Chief Executive Officer
Rick Smith has devoted his life to empowering young people all over the world through sports. As founder and chief executive officer of Trax Sports, Coach Smith creates innovative programs for elementary, middle and high school students, both in the United States and abroad. Trax Sports works with schools and other organizations to design impactful programs. They also host skill camps that cater to youth athletes at all levels. Before starting Trax Sports, Coach Smith built a sterling reputation as Athletic Director. Teacher and Coach during eight years at Paul Public Charter School and Paul International High School. He established all of the new school’s sports programs as athletic director and coached the Pirates’ charter league champion basketball team in 2009. While working at the school, Coach Smith also developed his passion for sports diplomacy through his involvement in the U.S State Department Sports United Program.
Director of Business Development
Corey Durant is an accomplished leader with nearly two decades of managerial experience in Corporate America. He specializes in leading and cultivating large teams, professional development, and implementing strategic process improvements. Currently, as a Vice President of Research at CoStar Group, the world’s leading provider of commercial real estate data, analytics, and marketplaces, Corey oversees a 200-person research team across the US, UK, and Canada. Corey holds a B.A. in Business Administration from The College of Charleston. He is a native of South Carolina and currently lives in Richmond VA, where he can be found enjoying the view of the James River from his CoStar office, strolling through the city’s best parks, and frequenting RVAs amazing local restaurants.
Chief Operations Officer
Andrae Sherman is the Chief Operations Officer for Trax Sports where he is responsible for the oversight and operations as well as development and implementation of programming and content. He graduated from the College Of Charleston with a Bachelor’s of Science in Corporate Communication in 2003. Upon graduation, he accepted an executive role of one of the most well recognized nonprofit organizations serving youth in the area. He continued his work in the field of nonprofits and child advocacy, while establishing and revitalizing multiple youth programs in the state of South Carolina. His knowledge of the nonprofit sector, coupled with his commitment to the health and well being of youth have led him to foster and support several others with similar interests. During the course of his professional career, he did work with a Fortune 15 company in the telecommunications sector where he also advocated for the support and importance of the local communities that are served by these large companies. In his leisure, he continues to coach at the high school level, write and spend time with his family.
Andrew M. Rein, Esq., MPA
Director of Policy
Andy Rein is the Director of Policy for Trax Sports. Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, he has had a passion for politics and sports from an early age. Andy was a competitive swimmer in high school and college, and still holds a record in his hometown. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a dual Bachelors degree in Government and Politics and Criminal Justice, and a minor in Astronomy. Andy began his career working on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, and then attended law school at Villanova University where he earned both a law degree and a Master of Public Administration. Andy has significant experience working at the federal levels of government in Washington, including with the U.S. Department of Justice in the Office of the Solicitor General, and with the Federal Aviation Administration in the Office of the Chief Counsel. A licensed attorney in Maryland and Washington, DC, Andy brings a wealth of knowledge and neverending positive energy to Trax Sports. He enjoys live music, snowboarding, cycling, and looks forward to competing in his second triathlon soon. Andy also has a bernedoodle puppy named Penelope, and they plan to travel the world together.
Director of Operations
Coty Durant is an accomplished Consultant, Facilitator, and Team Manager with over 15 years of managerial, analytical, and multi-site leadership expertise. He specializes in driving out improvement initiatives by analyzing data to support business cases, gaining buy-in with stakeholders, and developing execution plans to implement.
Coty is originally from Philadelphia, PA, spent his formative years in South Carolina, and currently resides in Atlanta, GA; where he can be found enjoying the city’s parks and playgrounds with his 5 year old daughter Layla, working to improve his performance in his recreational softball league, and visiting local restaurants with friends and family.
Coty holds a BA in Business Administration from The College of Charleston.
